Hospital update

Mom's health has taken a turn for the worse. Our family was called in this morning. Thanks to my "connections", the hospital has been gracious enough to give us access to the internet so I can update the blog. My hope is to read mom the comments you leave for her, so feel free to leave messages here.

Please continue to lift her up in prayer. We thank the MANY of you who have been fasting and praying already over the last few days. Your love and support has meant so much to mom and to our family! Many blessings to you.

Joy: You, undoubtably, have touched my life in so many ways during my 4 years at the Gospel Lighthouse. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to work along side you. You are an amazing woman of faith, and your strength and perserverance during this time is truly inspiring. Bram and I have joined in the fast and prayer today, but have been upholding your entire family in prayer and thoughts for many months now. I've come across a song by worship group Planetshakers, that makes me pray even more for you. The song is called "Healer":

You hold my every moment
You calm my raging seas
You walk with me through fire
And heal all my disease

I trust in You
I trust in You

I believe You're my Healer
I believe You are all I need
I believe You're my Portion
I believe You're more than enough for me
Jesus You're all I need

Nothing is impossible for You
Nothing is impossible for You
Nothing is impossible for You
You hold my world in Your hands

Joy, God is your Healer!!! We know and believe that His plans are far beyond our plans. Yet our faith gives us peace that He is in control and through all things, God will be glorified!

Praying without ceasing, Bacon family...

Love,

Rachel & Bram

Aunt Joy: I want to say how wonderful it was to see you and Uncle Scott at the family BBQ a few weeks ago. You have always brighten up a room the moment you've entered. With that big beautiful smile, star twinkleing eyes and that graceful peace that is always with you. I'm happy I got to give you a great big squeeze that day!
I was surfing the net and saw a bunch of wonderful poems but this one I thought was very cute and sweet. I just wanted to share it with you and whoever else might read this.
Mike, the girls, and myself are praying for the Lord to Bless you and the rest of the family.

We love all you very much!
Christina, Mike, Bella, Hannah, and Katrina.

A Garnish of Praise

This is a special kind of recipe.
Not the kind you serve at meals-
You make it in your heart!

Ingredients:
-God's great love, poured out like a drink offering for you
-Some fruits (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control)
-Faith firm as a rock
-God's word, like honey on our lips (psalm 19:10)
-Your heart and some laughter

Method:
-First, you take some faith, and stir it around
-Add some joy and laughter, till it makes a bubbly sound
-Mix in some of God's great love, till it all begins to ring
-Pour in a willing heart
-Serve to the King of Kings!!!

Serving Tips:
-Don't be afraid to share it all around by giving - because when you give, it will come back to you! (Luke 7:38)
-When you're feeling down, offer the garnish of praise as a sacrifice to God! He invites us to give a sacrifice of praise!! (Psalm 107:22)
-You can consume as much praise as you possibly can. Live in him and the ingredients will never run out! (John 4:14)

Joy and family,
I think of you just about every day and I wish that I lived closer to all of you.
Reading your blogs has been incredibly inspiring and challenging to me. I have shared your journey with my patients at the clinic and they are also impacted by the testimony of your faith.
Thank you for sharing your life with us and reminding us of His GREAT Love...
(I don't know you very well, Joy, but I do know Andrea and she is a very special friend of mine)
My heart is heavy for you. I will continue to pray for God's comfort, strength and peace to pour over you.

in the Mighty name of Jesus,
love, roxymae

Dearest Joy ... we have one amazing God who loves us so much we can barely understand and sometimes even contain it ... it seems that when we walk through the valleys we experience and receive His love in a much different way than we have experienced before .. some may say it is a truer, more deeper love. I know that walking through this valley you have experienced the Lord walking closely with you, holding you so intimately - as the bride and the bridegroom ... we will praise and sing His name ... for HE IS!! Hold fast dear one for He holds you and your family in the palm of His hand.

sending you and your family my prayers, love and support.

Just a note to let you know that we love you so much. We continue to pray for you and we are still believing with you. Continue to lean on him. He is holding your hand through it all. Just like that picture that Sarah drew for you. He is right by your side. You have always been there as a great light and example to me. And I thankyou for that. I pray that God will continue to help you with this pain you are facing and that God will reach his hand down to you in that hospital room and touched every inch of your body.
Love you lots,
Your Sis Rose.
P.S. The girls and Chris send you their love and support right now too. We are all praying.

Joy,

I have only met you a few times but you have struck me as a fighter yet so very peaceful and gracious. You inspire me. Keep fighting! I believe in you and I believe God is a healer. Your testimony inspires me to fight a little harder for healing in my own life so thank you. I know your road is so painful and hard right now and I wish, like Roxy that I could live closer to you all to be there to see you. I am sending you all my love and I am praying with you all!

Hi Mrs Bacon,
My name is Matthew Vaandering. You have never met me before, but I have heard much about you. My wife and I are friends with Andrea and Mikaela. Actually, Mikaela is in my apartment as a type this message because katie (my wife) and I are taking care of her while Andrea spends time with you in the hospital. I just want to let you know that your child and grandchild are amazing people and I'm sure they reflect the beauty of your personality as well. I also want you to know that your unshaken faith through this season of your life has been inspiring to me and many others. We are praying for you and your family:)

Dear Joy,

My deepest empathy towards you in this time

Would it be ok if I ask us all to lift our voices in praise for the victory we have in Christ.

For in hope we have been saved, but hope that is seen is not hope; for who hopes for what he already sees?
But if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it.

In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?

Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us.

Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
................

But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.

For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8:24-

Much love to you Joy and all who are close to you.

We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
I John 4:16

I just wanted you to know that I have been tracking with the blog since day one but haven't been in touch with any of you through it.....but I have been praying and believing with you all. Your family has always held a special place in my heart, and Joy's faith has always been an encouragement to me. Always carrying the grace of God with her, in her countenance, her example to me has been beyond words. Please know that we are standing behind you all in prayer and love.

Dear Joy, As I prayed for you through last night/this morning, the same verse that Heidi sent to you today kept coming to my mind. It is true that the steadfast love of the Lord NEVER ceases, His mercies NEVER come to an end; they are new every morning and great is HIS FAITHFULNESS. As I've prayed so frequently for you, the hymn, Great is Thy Faithfulness, continues to spring into my spirit as I think of life's journeys; yours, mine and many others' and it is true that HE IS FAITHFUL. As He is faithful,He is also the same yesterday and today and forever. . .He heals ALL of our diseases. . .He loves us with a never-ending love and He is seeing you through to victory right now. You, Scott and each member of your precious family He is giving divine life to. We overcome the adversary by the Blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony; our testimony is that He has redeemed our lives from destruction and He has set us in the cleft of the rock as He delivers /heals/ comforts/strengthens us . Praise Him! Continuing to join you in praise for His glorious, complete work in your life, Much love, Jack and Elizabeth

Hi guys. We just want to say we are still standing with you and the people of Cornerstone church. We are praying for you healing but most of all His will in all this. We know we are just visiting this planet and it is not our home. Our Father know whats best and he knows how to give good things. How can I keep from singing His praise. What we want is not always what He wants but we still want things right?Hey we are His kids and are not too different from our kids. You are in the best place right now and that is in His hands. To Father God, you are a keeper. He will not drop you and He will never turn His back away from you.All I can say is stay in His presence because all other things have to go away because they and it can hot occupy the same space and time when you are in His presence. My Mom told me that and she said that in His presence there is peace and no pain.Ted and Caty and the Cookies Prayer Warriors .

Lord God,
Precious Father,
We know you are the maker of all things and all things are in your hands. We know that Joy is in your hands and we are asking that for the sake of her loved ones that you will release her back to her family and calm this storm. She is needed still Lord Jesus.

We humbly come before you and ask for her life to be extended without pain and without any presence of disease. She is needed still. Your word tells of us of those whose lives you extended for your Glory, not ours Lord.

In the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ
Father we bow before you in all humility and and sorrow for the earthly life of this precious woman.

Amen

Dear Joy,

You are such an inspiration to me and to very many people, I'm sure! You seem to have such an unshakable faith that amazes me.

I was thinking about you and praying for your miracle while I was watching a DVD called 'Indescribable' by Louie Giglio. He uses the song of the same name by Chris Tomlin in the video. This video shows us how important we are to God and how the universe was created to tell of the glory of God and how the expanse declares the work of His hands. It is amazing how much God loves us and that He has made promises to us of forgiveness, healing, grace, mercy, and so many others.
The Word says that God knows every star by name; billions and billions of them - each by name. How much more does He know us and everything about us. He knows you and your every need and has the answer for each one.
I am praying that God would extend His hand to you and that your miracle would be manifest in your life today!!
Lots of Love,
Tina Drysdale

To the family: before my aunt died last year, she had a phrase "we are winners. God is good". Bacon family, your mom is definitely a winner and God is soo good. She is with Jesus - no pain, no suffering. Know there are many prayers being said on your behalf, upholding your arms as you walk though this difficult time.

Hi Scott and family

I'm sitting in a hotel in China as I type this. I (sadly) will not be able to attend Joy's home-going celebration, as I will not return to Canada till August 9th. Thanks to Joy, I learned to read music and sing my part. This helped me so much as the Lord led me to travel and sing/preach evangelize with Cathy and her family. (The Phillips Family back then) I remember Joy telling us as we sang in the choir, It's important to sing well, but let the life and joy of Jesus shine through you and it will speak much louder than the words we sing. Joy was an example of each. Her smile and warmth make me smile (and weep softly now), even as I type. I/we will miss her.
My warmest greetings to each of you. May the Lord give you His strength and grace as you walk through the dark valley of death.
We love you.
